Construction of a group of buildings totaling approximately 158,000 SF on a 34-acre Site that will serve as the new home for Pierce County Public Works, Road Maintenance and Equipment Services functions. The Site was pre-graded under a separate contract.
The Project included all utilities, final grading, paving and finish work, along with the construction of six independent buildings. The buildings included one main administrative and crew support building, (two-story, custom steel frame construction) and five single story storage/maintenance buildings constructed using pre-engineered steel. The project achieved a LEED Silver Rating for Building A and related site work. Pease & Sons, Inc. served as both the Mechanical and General contractor on this project.
The new CMF design uses sustainable 'green' strategies such as low impact development practices for stormwater management, paving, energy, and water conservation systems. Unique project challenges and/or accomplishments include: LEED Silver rating which included harvesting rain water for irrigation and non-potable use; six (6) separate structures constructed simultaneously; large site development; utilized on-site topsoil for landscaping.
