SR-7, Elbe Safety Rest Area

Adaptation of a 2-story, 3,000 sqft former Civilian Conservation Corps bunkhouse that dates back to the 1930s, into an ADA accessible rest stop with mens, womens and family restrooms on the 1st floor and storage/maint space on the 2nd floor.  The structure fits within the rural landscape but is maintained to modern standards.

 

The project included: Cast-in-place concrete; pre-cast concrete; unit masonry; structural steel framing; glue-laminated construction; thermal insulation; standing seam sheet metal roofing; sheet metal flashing and trim; hollow metal doors & frames; access doors and panels; door hardware; louvers; gypsum board; painting; plumbing; HVAC; controls; electrical and lighting.

 

Construction of new site improvements, including but not limited to: Demolition of pavement and removal; site clearing and grading; storm utility drainage piping; plantings; signage; cement sidewalks; and miscellaneous structures.
